Exinda Plans for Continued Growth Through Product & Sales Excellence and Channel Expansion

September 8, 2008─Toronto─Exinda Networks, a leading global provider of application acceleration and WAN optimization solutions, today announced the appointment of two new executives dedicated to growing the company by focusing on product excellence, efficiency of the sales organization and expansion of its distribution channel. Michael Sharma has been appointed as Exinda’s new chief executive officer (CEO) and Efrem Ainsley as chief financial officer (CFO). Exinda’s former CEO, Con Nikolouzakis, will take on a new role as Chief Product Officer. Nikolouzakis will also serve as Exinda’s chairman of the board.

“Exinda’s goal is to continue to deliver high quality products that meet the needs of our global customers for improving application delivery,” said Michael Sharma. “Exinda will continue to expand is distribution channel to meet the growing worldwide demand for its WAN optimization products.”

In his role as CEO, Sharma will be responsible for managing the day-to-day business operations of the company. Prior to joining Exinda, Sharma was chief operating officer and president at PlateSpin Ltd., a software company acquired in March, 2008 by Novell Inc. for $205 million. Previous to PlateSpin, he was the vice president of worldwide sales for Platform Computing. He brings more than 20 years of technology industry experience and extensive operational, technical and sales expertise to Exinda. Sharma also served as president of Netscape Canada and in various management roles at Oracle Corporation (Canada) and Amdahl.

As the new CFO, Ainsley will be responsible for all of Exinda’s financial activities with the Finance, Administration and Marketing departments reporting to him. Ainsley brings more than 15 years of experience as a financial professional with broad experience in financial reporting, corporate finance and compliance functions for growing technology companies. Prior to joining Exinda, Efrem was CFO for PlateSpin. Earlier in his career, he was vice president and corporate controller with Open Text Corporation, one of Canada's largest and most profitable software companies and served as director of Finance for Cyberplex Inc, a public company and one of North America's leading technology consulting firms.exinda networsk logo
